According to a new report by Proofpoint and Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), many companies cannot take full advantage of cloud security solutions due to a lack of qualified employees.
Based on a survey of 200 IT and security professionals, the report concludes that half suffer from a staff shortage.
To solve this problem, most companies are already using or wanting to use the cloud (opens in a new tab) access to security brokers (CASB (opens in a new tab)).
Meaning of CASB
Nearly a third reported that they use multiple CASBs to keep them safe, and another third explains that complex solutions prevent them from fully exploiting the potential of CASB solutions.
While some companies use CASB to comply with various rules and regulations, almost a quarter also use them for internal compliance.
“To overcome the vulnerabilities found in this Cloud Security Alliance survey, look for a solution that is part of a larger security portfolio that can effectively address people-centered cloud security concerns for cloud account breach, cloud data loss prevention and application compliance in cloud and visibility, ”said Tim Choi, vice president of product marketing at Proofpoint.
“It is important that the journey begins with clear goals and priorities. In addition, identifying CASB solutions that provide a deployment model that can be launched in hours rather than weeks leads to faster benefits. ”
